Hiwassee River Guides...2019

So, i have let this blog site sit dormant for a bit, but its back in action now. not really sure why i let it sit for so long, i think at times we all have a few to many irons in the fire and some things just get pushed to the side for little while. During the down time here quite a few things have changed along the way. As of the last issued prospectus from the Forest Service, I am a special use permit holder for the Hiwassee River in Reliance Tn. I have never stopped fishing or guiding, have just been laying low working and trying to make a living like everyone else.

This page will be used for  posting fishing reports from our local waters throughout the year and i will try to keep things as current as possible. While working and fishing trying to keep up with everything else.

This is the current state of affairs on our area rivers as of late.
High Water all over the place. TVA has been and is continuing to spill water on a majority of our area tail waters making them unfishable. The Clinch and Holston Rivers in Knoxville are blown out and most likely will be for some time as the lakes are still at summer pool levels. The Toccoa in North Ga has been having some window of opportunity. The South Holston River has been running around 3-4000 cfs which is high water, but will most likely fish to some degree. The Cumberland River in Kentucky has around 50,000 cfs rolling in between the banks. The Hiwassee River has finally been lowered to fishable levels over the past week and should be at either a 1 generator flow or a 0/1 pulse schedule after the next week. So other than fishing in the mountain streams or on some or our area lakes, the Hiwassee is just about the only game for the next bit.
