Water release schedules are dropping across the board on our Tennessee tail waters. The Hiwassee is around 2400-1600 cfs this week and will either be at continuous 1 generator flow of 1500cfs or it will be the normal 0-1 pulse schedule. We have been seeing some nice caddis hatches with a mix of Hendrickson’s and blue wings on the river and the fish have been rising accordingly. The white bass and walleye are showing up in the lower river as well which is a great combo day of fishing using our river jets.
On a side note the water release schedules for the clinch & toccoa rivers are finally showing favorable flows for trips and the Holston below Cherokee damm will most likely be in play shortly. There also some other good options for fishing, but we will get into that a little later.
Hiwassee River Guides provides year round guided fishing trips in East Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, & North Georgia tailwaters and freestone streams. We work hard to provide our customers with the best possible fishing options in the region. By offering both float and wade fishing trips for Trout and Smallmouth Bass on some of the finest southern waters.
